IVANOVSKAYA STREET, running from Obukhovskoy Oborony Avenue to the Moskovskaya Line of the Oktyabrskaya Railroad, part of the Central Arched Line. Named in the 1890s after a house-owner. In the 1910s, Ivanovskaya Street ran from the Neva River to present-day Babushkina Street. The street's buildings originate from the 1930s, when the former village of Shchemilovka was developed (architects I.I. Fomin, E.A. Levinson, S.I. Evdokimov). In 1936-51, the section of the street extending from the square near Volodarsky Bridge up to Sedova Street (architects Evdokimov) was built up, and in 1956-58 development continued from Sedova Street to Kibalchicha Street. The current structure of Ivanovskaya Street was completed in the 1960s. The street includes the Nevsky Department Store (house No. 6).
