LEONTYEV CENTRE, International Centre of Social and Economic Studies, situated at 16 Voznesensky Avenue, an independent nonprofit organisation founded in 1991 on the initiative of A. A. Sobchak and V. V. Leontyev. The centre implemented over 500 research and consulting projects by 2002 including the St. Petersburg Centre Reconstruction Project in 1998-2000 and the St. Petersburg Economic Development Project in 2002-05. It also implemented over 50 publishing projects and arranged over 110 conferences and seminars. The so-called Leontyev Readings are annually held by the centre under the name of Russia's Actual Economic Problems.
