LESNAYA HARBOUR (Forest Harbour) is a complex of artificial water constructions including several rectangular cuts located in the southern part of Gutuyevsky Island, on Gladky Island and on the continental area to the west of the Kirov Factory and the Northern Dockyards. Its name appeared in 1870s, when ships with forest materials were unloaded here. Islands in the water area of Lesnaya Harbour were named Krivaya Damb and Grebenka Damb. The Ekaterinhofka River flows into Lesnaya Harbour. Cuts (pools) of Lesnaya Harbour (and partly of the Sea Commercial port) are named Barochny (Bark), Vostochny (Eastern), Bolshoy (Large) and Ekaterinhofsky. Main technical construction and fitting works were done in 1884-1914, after the opening of the Morskoy Canal. It was reconstructed in the second half of the 20th century and today it is a large enterprise for exporting of wood and timber.
