RAINBOW Publishing House was founded in 1922. Journalist L. M. Klyachko was its creator and owner. The main office was situated in the Bolshoy Gostiny Dvor, the editorial board was housed in the flat of Klyachko (14 Stremyannaya Street). The publishing house had a subsidiary in Moscow. It published children's books, adventure novels and popular-science literature. A. L. Barto, V. V. Bianki, L. I. Borisova, B. S. Zhitkov, S. Y. Marshak, K. I. Chukovsky were among the authors. Books published in the publishing house were distinguished by their high level of artistic decoration thanks to the participation of artists Y. P. Annenkov, B. M. Kustodiev, V. V. Lebedev, S. V. Chekhonin. The publishing house was closed in 1930.
