12 May. In the Catherine Palace was a fire having damaged the part of the Main halls and the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, in the presence of Emperor Alexander I. The Miracle-Working Icon of the Holy Sign was took from the Church of the Holy Sign. After the passion prayer of the Emperor, who exclaimed: " The Mother of God! Save my house!", the wind suddenly changed and the fire stopped. Historiographer N.M. Karamzin was the witness of this fire.
