19 October. The Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum , one of the progressive educational establishments of Russia in the early 19th cent., was opened for the preparation "young people, particularly for the important state work". The Lyceum was placed in the wing constructed in the late 18th cent. by I.V. Neyelov and the interior of the wing was rebuilt for the educational establishment by V.P. Stasov in 1811.
