ARONSON Leonid Lvovich (1939, Leningrad - 1970), poet. He graduated from the Herzen State Pedagogical University (1963). He worked as a teacher of literature at the evening school. In the early 1960s he was closely associated with I.A. Brodsky, A.L. Khvostenko, E.G. Mikhnov-Voitenko and other poets and artists, who was not officially recognized. He absorbed silver age poetic traditions, was affected by the influence of the Union of Realistic Art; aimed for accuracy and fineness of semantic sounding of verse. While Aranson was alive his verses were published by the underground press. He had a significant influence on unofficial culture of the 1970-80s young Petersburg poetry. He committed a suicide. In 1990 a collection of Aranson's verses was published (edited by V. Erl). He was buried at the Memorial for the Victims of the Ninth of January Cemetery. There is a monument made by K.M. Simun at the grave.
