MILITARY LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT ACADEMY (8 Makarova Embankment), a military educational institution. It prepares officers for command and engineering specialities for the support and transportation troops. It was founded in Kharkov as the Military Economy Academy of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, in 1940 it became the Commissary Academy of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army; in 1942, it became the Military Academy of Support and Supply Academy, from 1943 being located in Kalinin. In 1956, it was relocated to Leningrad, united with the Military Transport Academy and received its present-day name. It is situated in the former building of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (1914-15, architect M.M. Peretyatkovich), educational buildings are situated in the buildings of the former First Cadet Corps, at the corner of Universitetskaya Embankment and Syezdovskaya Line.
