TUR Alexander Fedorovich (1894-1974, Leningrad), paediatrician, Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1952). The main work of Tur was related to the Institute of Motherhood and Infancy (now the Paediatric Medical Academy), where he founded a number of chairs; he was a leader of a school in medicine. Tur was awarded the Lenin Prize in 1970. He was buried in the Serafimovskoe Cemetery. In 1994 the bust of Tur was installed in the park of the Academy (sculptor E. F. Yashin).
