UTIN Yakov Isaakovich (1839-1916), entrepreneur, Privy Counsellor. Graduating from St. Petersburg University with a major in law in 1860, he served in the Department of Justice and was promoted to serve as the Director of the Department. After he resigned in 1885, he engaged in business activities. Utin was a member of the board of St. Petersburg Discount and Loan Bank in 1885-1903 and its president from 1903. He was a manager at a number of enterprises including metallurgical and engineering plants, oil companies, gold-mines, carrier companies, and an insurance company. He was also a member of the board in the Stock Department of the St. Petersburg Exchange. He lived at 48 Bolshaya Morskaya Street.
