RAZLIV, a locality in southern Sestroretsk, north of Tarkhovka, on the western bank of Lake Sestroretsky Razliv; also a railway station along the Saint Petersburg -Sestroretsk line. A settlement emerged here in the early 18th century (existing until 1956), as did the foundation of the Sestroretsky Armoury. The Primorskaya Railway was laid out in 1894, giving rise to a summer cottage settlement in so called Novye Mesta. A small Jewish Cemetery existed in the northern part of Razliv on the lake's beach (closed down in the 1940s). After the failure of the attempted Bolshevik coup d'etat in July 1917, Lenin and G. E. Zinovyev hid on the lake's beach. A memorial complex, with a Hut-shed (Shalash) monument, the Razliv Museum, and a monument to V. I. Lenin were constructed in commemoration of the events.
