Dekabristov Bridge

DEKABRISTOV BRIDGE (until 1918 Officers' Bridge), spanning Kryukov Canal, on Dekabristov Street (formerly Officers' Street, hence both names). Built in 1784-86 as a three span bridge with wooden frame (the central span opening) on supporting piers of packed rubble with a granite facing. Was widened in 1914, a metal framу was added made from unbroken double-tee girders (engineer A. P. Pshenitsky), new railings with a complicated design were wrought. In 1990 the waterproofing and granite parapet was replaced. Length approximately 29 metres, width 23.3 metres.
