ST. PETERSBURG RESEARCHERS’ ASSOCIATION (1/3 Zodchego Rossi Street), a non-profit scientific organisation founded in 1990 by the International Charitable Foundation for the Renaissance of St. Petersburg-Leningrad for scientific research coordination with a view of St. Petersburg renaissance as the cultural centre of global importance, and information support of protection of its cultural legacy and restoration. In 1993 the Association became a limited liability partnership. The Association conducts annual St.Petersburg Readings (since 1990), thematic seminars, like St.Petersburg and Russia (1994), German Links in the History of St. Petersburg (1992, 1993, 1994), workshops on issues of St. Petersburg-related studies. The Association participated in the work of city conferences, such as St. Petersburg and the Armed Forces (1995), Issues of Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the Context of Privatisation (1995), etc. The Association developed the program Encyclopaedic Library of St. Petersburg – 2003, included in the support programme of municipal publishing projects. The Association also carries out comprehensive examinations of sites and objects protected by the state as historical and cultural monuments. It participates in developing research methodologies and drafts of regulatory documents on the protection of the city's architectural legacy.
