Categories / Art/Music, Theatre/Stage, Cabaret, Variety Shows

BI-BA-BO, a cabaret theatre, opened in January 1917 in the vault of the Passage (19 Italyanskaya Street). It was established by producer K. A. Mardzhanov, poet N. Y. Agnivtsev and artist F. N. Kurikhin, who transformed the cabaret into a kind of actors' club. The cabaret artists often performed in other theatres earlier in the evening and acted for the cabaret afterwards. Founding member and artist A. A. Radakov developed the programmes. A. A. Volsky was the leading actor. In 1918, the collective of the theatre left for Kiev to give performances and the cabaret was closed.
