KAMENNY BRIDGE, over Griboedova Canal, on Gorokhovaya Street. It was constructed in 1766-76 (engineers V.I. Nazimov, I.N. Borisov) at the site of a previously existing (1752) timber bridge called Sredny Bridge. The span consists of an arched granite vault. The bridge had four semi-circle stair ramps to the embankment side walks (destroyed in the late 19th century). Length: 19.7 metres, width: 13.9 metres.
