27 August. Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov visited Tsarskoye Selo according to the invitation of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. He reflected his impressions in a great poetical work where famous poet lines have sounded: "If only with a beautiful building / The number of stars must be increased, / Like the bright constellation/ Tsarskoye Selo is worthy.

The Coasting Hill with a pavilion was built according to the design of F.-B. Rastrelli between the Ramp Alley and the Great Lake. The constructive decision of this design was done by A.K. Nartov.
