MUSEUM OF RUSSIAN VODKA situated at 5 Konnogvardeysky Boulevard, private museum. The first Russian museum in its kind, it was opened in May 2001 on the initiative of S. A. Chentsov and R. M. Shevyakov. There are two display halls on the ground floor of the former building of the clergy of St. Isaac's Cathedral, which was built by architect M. A. Markov in 1896. The exposition covers the history of producing vodka from the tenth century to the present day with samples of commercial advertisements, vodka labels, and bottles among exhibits. There is also a tasting room designed as a tavern of the 19th century.
