LEBEDEV Nikolay Ivanovich (1897 - 1989, Leningrad), film director, People's Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1969. He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Screen Arts as an actor in 1925. He appeared in films from 1923. He started as a director at Lenfilm Studio in 1929 to become one of the most famous children's film directors. He produced over 20 films including Fedka in 1936; Marshal's Childhood in 1938; Happy Sailing in 1949; Andreyka shot in 1958 and awarded the first prize at the Second All-Union Film Festival in Kiev; and Please, Accuse Klava K. of My Death shot in 1979 together with E. Yasan and awarded as the best children's film at the 13th All-Union Film Festival in Dushanbe and the main prize at the 18th International Film Festival in Gijon in 1980. St. Petersburg appears in Winter Morning shot in 1966 and awarded as the best children's film at the Sixth International Film Festival in Moscow in 1969. Lebedev was awarded the Stalin Prize in 1950 and State Prize of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1981. His last address in Leningrad was at 48 Kuznetsovskaya Street. He was buried at Literatorskie Mostki.
