Titov V.А. (1939-2000), film director

TITOV Viktor Abrosimovich (1939-2000, St. Petersburg), film and television director. He graduated from the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography as a qualified director in 1968. He worked at Lenfilm Studio from 1975. He directed 24 films including for television. Among them were Hello, I'm Your Aunt, a television film of 1975; Open Book, a five-part television series of 1977-79; Oriental Romance of 1992; Life of Klim Samgin, a 14-part television series of 1985-87; and I Pay in Advance, a television film of 1998 awarded the Grand-Prix at the International Television Festival in Monte Carlo. He produced a large variety of films - from eccentric comedy to epic. He won the Outstanding Contribution to the National Cinematography Prize at the Window to Europe Film Festival in Vyborg in 1999. He was buried at Komarovskoe Cemetery.
