District Militia Officers

DISTRICT MILITIA OFFICERS (district commissioners of militia), members of militia of public safety providing social order and preventing crimes on the territory entrusted to them. Since 1995 district militia officers were subordinated to the Administration of District Commissioners of Militia and Minors’ Division of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg and of Leningrad Region. In 2000 a monthly extra payment was introduced for employees of district militia officer service, provided by the budgetary sources of the City of St. Petersburg. In 2003 there were 1578 district militia officers working in St. Petersburg.
