GUARDS POSTS, military posts, regularly taken by the guards regiments. In the 18th century Guards sentries patrolled the Streets to control order, guarded public institutions, city gates, state property depositories, etc. In the 19th - early 20th century Guards sentries were posted at a number of public objects (Imperial residences, state bank, state treasury and the like) for their security guard and ceremonial purposes.
