DEGTYARNY LANE, running from Moiseenko Street to Novgorodskaya Street. Assumed its current name in the 1830s after storehouses containing tar ("degot" in Russian) located nearby. House No. 18/6 serves as an astounding example of northern Art Nouveau architecture (1912, architect A.F. Bubyr). A building connected to a tramway depot overlooks the lane (house No. 3, 1913-14, civil engineer A.A. Lamagin).
