Kima Avenue

KIMA AVENUE, between the Smolenka River Embankment and Uralskaya Street, on Dekabristov Island. Laid in 1914 during the development of the New Petersburg region, and given its name in the early 1930s to commemorate the Communist Youth International (KIM). Buildings nos. 5 and 7, designed by architect F.I. Lidval, were constructed in 1914-16. In 1926, the KIM stadium was built, designed by architect M.M. Sinyaver. The majority of its buildings date back to the 1930s - 1960s. In the 1960s, freight blocks and berths for the river port were built along the bank of the Malaya Neva River (building no. 19).
