Bolshevikov Avenue

BOLSHEVIKOV AVENUE, a part of the central ring road lying between Kollontay Street and Oktyabrskaya Embankment. It was laid in the right-bank part of Nevsky District where names of streets are associated with the history of the revolutionary movement in Russia. It was named in honour of the Bolshevik Party in 1970 and built up in the 1970s-90s. There are two metro stations in the avenue: Prospekt Bolshevikov and Ulitsa Dybenko. House 24 built by architects I. N. Kuskov and V. M. Rivlin in 1980s accommodates a branch of the Bonch-Bruevich Institute of Telecommunications. The Ice Sports Palace is situated nearby at 1 Pyatiletok Avenue.
