Belinskogo Street

BELINSKOGO STREET, until 1923 - Simeonovskaya Street, between Fontanka River Embankment and Liteiny Avenue. The street was so named after V. G. Belinsky. The previous name was in honour of SS Simon and Anna Church situated at number 6. Architect G. I. Winterhalter built a chapel at the corner of Mokhovaya Street, 46 Belinskogo Street, in 1869-72. G. G. Kushelev-Bezborodko's mansion reconstructed by architect A. I. Stakenschneider in 1853-54 is situated at the head of the street, house 1, or 32 Fontanka River Embankment. House 5 built by architects I. P. Volodikhin and V. Y. Iogansen in 1913 accommodated the editorial office of Peterburgskaya Gazeta. S. Z. Iof's apartment house reconstructed by architect A. L. Lishnevsky in 1911-14 is situated at 13 Belinskogo Street or 47 Liteiny Avenue.
