GREKOV Ivan Ivanovich (1867-1934, Leningrad) surgeon, Doctor of Medicine (1901), honourable science worker (1933). He graduated from the Yuryev University (1894). From 1926 he was Chief Doctor of Obukhovskaya Hospital, at the same time in 1915-34 he was professor of the Psychoneurological institute. He founded the journal Bulletin of Surgery and Boundary Fields (1922; from 1934 Bulletin of Surgery in Honour of Grekov). There is a memorial plaque on the main wing of the former Obukhovskaya Hospital (106 Fontanka Embankment). Grekov was buried in the Communist section of Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
