REGIONAL ECONOMIC PROBLEMS, Institute for, located at 50а Serpukhovskaya Street, was established in 1975 as the Institute of Social and Economic Problems (ISEP) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR as a result of uniting of several scientific organizations. The institute received its present-day name in 1999. It carries out research into problems of social and economic development, including planning, economic effectiveness of production, and managing city economy etc. The institute publishes the journals: Gumanitarnye Nauki (since 1993), Molodezh: Tsifry. Fakty. Mneniya (since 1992), Regionalnaya Ekonomika (since 1994); Shkola Gumanitarnykh Nauk (since 1994), Region: Politika. Ekonomika. Sotsiologiya (since 1998).
