TREZZINI Pietro Antonio (1692-1760s), architect, representative of the Baroque style. A native of Italian Switzerland, studied in Milan. From 1726 lived in St. Petersburg, initially worked independently. From 1735, was engaged in the reconstruction of the old St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Post-Office building, completed the construction of the Customs House and Court Stables. Collaborated with D. Trezzini and M.G. Zemtsov. In 1740-1747 supervised the construction of the Holy Assumption Church of Cathedral of Prince St. Vladimir; in 1743-1751 – Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, from 1742 – Holy Trinity Cathedral of Troitse-Serghieva Hermitage and finished the construction of Alexander Nevsky Monastery (Feodor Church, see Alexander Nevsky Lavra). He completed the construction of the Naval Hospital (1 Vyborgskaya Embankment), erected two of the buildings of St. Catherine's Church. He is also thought to have planned the St. Panteleimon’s Church, Holy Assumption Church on Sennaya Square and the Church of Our Lady of Vladimir. In 1751, he returned to Italy.
