SOKHIN Vitaly Antonovich (1925-1995, St. Petersburg), architect, artist. Veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (1953). In the 1950s built a residential house at 21 Frunze Street and the building of the Institute of Physiology in Koltushi. From 1962 onwards, he was involved in planning and developing the western area of Vasilievsky Island: residential houses at Smolenka River Embankment, the experimental block No1, Korablestroiteley Street, the residential house beside the Pribaltiiskaya Hotel. The Sea Terminal on Square of Naval Glory, designed by Sokolov is one of the most significant buildings of the second half of the 20th century in Leningrad.
