GURYEV Oleg Ivanovich (1912, St. Petersburg - 1986, Leningrad), architect, artist. Upon graduating from the Leningrad Engineering and Urban Planning Institute (1935) he worked in the Lenproject Institute, in 1943-60, was in charge of a workshop. Guryev's works are fine examples of the Neoclassical trend in Soviet architecture. In 1936-39, he participated in the formation of the residential housing block on Malaya Okhta. In 1948-56, he was one of the authors of the reconstruction of Troitskaya (Vostaniya) Square, of the apartment house No 5 and No 3 (the building of Lenproject Institute). In the 1940s-50s, he was one of the authors of building on Kamennoostrovsky (Kirovsky) Avenue (houses Nos. 2, 15, 25, 27, 34, 47), of planning and construction Primorsky Avenue residential area (1946-51), of Lanskoe Highway (1958-62), of the designs for the Lenin Stadium (currently, Petrovsky) (1957-61, in collaboration with N.V. Baranov and V.M. Fromzel).
