LENINGRAD TRADING HOUSE (DLT), closed joint-stock company, a trading company and department store situated at 21-23 Bolshaya Konuyshennaya Street. It was opened in 1927 in the building of the former Trading House of the Guards’ Economic Society. The control over the building passed from federal to local authorities in 1957. The department store and its branches were established in 1965. The department store specialised in children’s goods. Leningrad Trading House became a joint-stock company in 1991, 74.37% of shares were controlled by the city and the remaining 25.63% distributed among its staff, Baltiisky Plant, Svetlana Company, and Vologodskoe Clothing Company. The management of the company excluded the city from its shareholders in August 1993, and the right of ownership has been litigated ever since. Leningrad Trading House is among the three largest trading companies in St. Petersburg. The area of the department store is 9,170 m2. The company had 20 stores in 2003 situated throughout the city. Its turnover exceeded 900 million roubles in 2000. The department store of Leningrad Trading House was the first store in the city to obtain a de luxe category of service quality on 3.11.1997.
