Categories / City Topography/Waterways and Currents/Harbors

LOMONOSOVSKAYA HARBOUR is a natural gulf located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland in the northern part of the city of Lomonosov (hence, the name) at the head of the Karasta River. It cuts inland for almost 0.5 km and is 1 km wide, and over 5 meters deep. It has been artificially bordered; the length of fortified piers fitted with lighthouses reaches 0.7 km. Lomonosovskaya Harbour is connected to the Morskoy Canal which allows reception of sea vessels. It is used as port and Lomonosov quay. A monument marking the berth of the Aurora Cruiser in 1941-44 is located at the Harbour wall.
