SALON OF SOLOGUB, regular meetings (at-home) of St. Petersburg writers organized in 1904-16 (occurring usually on Sundays) at the flats of writer and poet F. Sologub, L. N. Andreev, A. A. Blok, Y. N. Verkhovsky, V. V. Gippius, M. V. Dobuzhinsky, B. K. Zaytsev, V. I. Ivanov, A. A. Kondratyev, V. A. Pyast, A. M. Remizov, A. P. Chapygin, G. I. Chulkov and P. E. Shchegolev, later A. A. Akhmatova and M. A. Kuzmin were among constant visitors. In contrast to Ivanov's Wednesdays they at first carried a specifically literary character: new literary works by Sologub and by other participants of the salon were read and critically analysed. After 1910, fancy-dress parties were organized, producers, actors, musicians N. N. Evreinov, V. E. Meyerhold, А. С. Lourie were among participants.
