CASE OF PUPILS OF THE LYCEUM was fabricated by the organs of Joint State Political Administration Board in 1925 against the group of graduates of Alexandrovsky Lyceum who were accused of creating an organization aiming to overthrow the Soviet power and restore the monarchical order. Traditional annual meetings of graduates on the Day of the Lyceum (19 October), the fact of existence of the mutual aid fund, annual (from 1921) burial services for the perished and departed former pupils of the Lyceum in different churches of the city in which members of the Imperial Family were also remembered were used as evidence by the prosecution. On charges brought against the pupils of the Lyceum, on 15 February 1925, over 150 people were arrested, out of whom 26 people were executed by Decree of the Collegium of the Joint State Political Administration Board on 22 June 1925, and 25 people were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment in concentration camps (P.P. Weiner, N.N. Golitsyn, N.V. Verkhovsky and others were among them), A total of 29 people were sentenced to different terms of exile. The former director of the Lyceum Schilder died during the investigation. Graduates of the College of Law (M.N. Fiztum von Exted, A.A. Arnoldi, P.N. Yumatov and others), former officers of Semenovsky Life Guard Regiment (colonel A.A. Richter, colonel A.N. Grivenits and others) were sentenced in the case of pupils of the Lyceum. Almost every person persecuted in the case of pupils of the Lyceum were later either executed or perished in concentration camps.

LYCEUM, Tsarskoe Selo Lyceum renamed Alexandrovsky Lyceum in 1843, a privileged higher education institution providing training for state officials. It was founded in 1810 and opened on 19 October 1811
