March. Three residental houses having 156 apartments put into housing for the accommodation of the residents of dilapidated and unsafe houses in the quarter no.7 (Sophia).

9 June. The Hall on the Island became the magnificent building of the State Museum Reserve "Tsarskoye Selo" after its restoration.

28 June. Professor S.M. Nekrasov, director of the All-Russian A.S. Pushkin Museum from 1988, Doctor of Sciences, was conferred the title "Honorary Citizen of Pushkin Town" during the special ceremony.

23 July. Decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On celebration of the 300-year anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin Town)" was published. Organizational Committee, vice-premier A.D.Zhukov was a head, was founded on 26 November.

1 September. New school for 825 pupils , with two swimming pools, several sports halls, up-to-date equipment of classrooms, and a new kindergarden for 190 children were opened according to the program "On celebration of the 300-yer anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin Town)" in Sophia district .

6 November. The plant "General Motors Auto" , 60,000 cars was planed to assemble at this plant during a year, was put into operation during the special ceremony in the presence of President RF D.A. Medvedev and Governor of St Petersburg V.I. Matviyenko in Shushary Settlement .

11 November. The commemorative obelisk was opened on the place of the Communal Grave of Heroes (1,000 soldiers were buried at this place in 1914-1917) in the Kazansky cemetery on the day of the 90th anniversary of the end of WWI .

19 December. New transport arterial road along Vitebsky Prospekt, from Shushary settlement to Peterburg Road, was opened, this arterial road improved , to a significant degree, the entry of automobiles moving to Pushkin Town from St Petersburg.
