BELOVA Lyudmila Nikolaevna (1924-1993, St. Petersburg), museum worker, Honorary Worker of Culture of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (1965). Graduated from the Faculty of History of the M. N. Pokrovsky Leningrad Pedagogical Institute (1951). Directed the Central Depository of Museum Collections from Suburban Palace-Museums (1952-54). Directed the State Museum of Leningrad History (1954-87), contributing to its transformation into a large association comprised of the former Rumyantsev House, Peter and Paul Fortress, the fortress Oreshek (Schlisselburg Fortress), and a number of other locations. The exhibition, History of St. Petersburg - Petrograd - Leningrad 1703-1917, showed at the Commandant's House of the St. Peter-and-Paul Fortress in 1975. Belova directed the State Museum of Leningrad Defence in 1989-91. Belova was a member of the editorial board of the encyclopaedia St. Petersburg - Petrograd - Leningrad (Moscow, 1992). She was a member of IKOM UNESKO's Council of Museums of History and Archaeology. Belova was buried in the Bogoslovskoe Cemetery.
