SCHEDROVSKY Ignaty Stepanovich (1815-1870), graphic artist and painter. He settled in St. Petersburg in 1833 and the same year he started to attend the Academy of Arts, studying there until 1836 as an irregular student. He painted thoroughly elaborated graphic and painterly works which render street scenes pertaining to the ordinary life of St. Petersburg and types of its inhabitants with an exceptional keenness of observation: A Kvass Vendor (1837, State Russian Museum), A Reader at the Embankment and a Lemonade Vendor (1839, State Tretyakov Gallery), albums of lithographs Scenes of the Russian Popular Life (published by the Society for the Encouragement of Arts in 1839), album of colour artists' lithographs Here are Our People! Compiled and Painted from Nature by I. Schedrovsky (1846) etc. He moved to Moscow in the late 1860s, where he lived until his death.
