NAPPELBAUM Misey Solomonovich (1869-1958), photographer. He lived in St. Petersburg from 1910 and created the gallery of the city's public figures: Yury Annenkov, Anna Akhmatova, Alexander Block, Alexander Glazunov, Vsevolod Meyerkhold, Mikhail Kuzmin, Fedor Shalyapin, et al. He managed to reflect the true emotional state of his models, maintaining the plastic integrity of their images. His works were published in the journal Solntse Rossii. In 1918, he held his first personal exhibition in the Anichkov Palace. Poets and musicians used to meet in his studio (Nevsky Prospect, 72) on Mondays. In 1919, he moved to Moscow. He wrote the memoirs From Craft to Art (Moscow, 1958).
