MOLOSTVOV Mikhail Mikhailovich (1934-2003, St. Petersburg) was a statesman and philosopher. In 1935, in the course of the operation Former People he was exiled with his parents from Leningrad to Rzhev. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Leningrad State University (1957) where he was a leader of the illegal students' public policy circle. He was in political exile (1958-65), after the discharge he worked as a teacher in Karelia, in Novgorod Region, Pskov Region and Omsk Region. From 1983, he was a teacher, and then he worked as a country postman in Kalinin Region. In 1990 on the initiative of Leningrad Memorial Organisation he was elected Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as a member of the Soviet of Nationalities; in 1993-95, he was a Deputy of the State Duma from the St. Petersburg division of Choice of Russia Political Party. In 1991 he led the Commission for the transfer of the KGB Archive of Leningrad and Leningrad Region to the state (applying a seal to the archive). From 1992 Molostvov served as a member of the Public Pardon Board of the President of the Russian Federation (opposing the death punishment). Molostvov spoke out against the war in Chechnya; he participated in peace negotiations of 1994-95; he was contused during the taking of Grozny (December 1994 - January 1995); in June 1995 Molostvov was a voluntary hostage of Sh. Basaev in Budennovsk. From 1995, he lived on 19 Morskaya Embankment; from 2000 - on 44 Lenina Street.
