KURAKIN Alexey Borisovich (1759-1829, St. Petersburg), Prince, statesman, Full Privy Councilor (1797). He was the brother of Alexander B. Kurakin. Served as Procurator General in 1796-98; then in 1798, he was appointed Minister of the Department of Imperial Manors. He was also active as a member of the Standing Assembly (1804-09), Minister of Internal Affairs (1807-10), and a member of the State Assembly (1811). In 1824, he was Chair of the Aid Committee for Victims of the St. Petersburg Flood. Two years later, he participated in the Supreme Penal Court over the affair of the Decembrists.
