BOLSHEOKHTINSKY AVENUE, one of the main roads in Bolshaya Okhta lying between Krasnogvardeiskaya Square and Revolyutsii Freeway. The avenue included Gorushechnaya Street from Bolshaya Porokhovskaya Street in 1958, which was so named after the former Gorushka Market situated near the present-day house 14. The Head Office of Okhtinskoe Admiralty was situated not far from Kontorskaya Street, later - Okhta Suburban Council (house 3) with an alms-house built by architect P. P. Merkulov in 1865-67, out houses built in 1886-87, and fire tower built in 1900s. Modern houses were built in 1950-70s. In Bolsheokhtinsky Avenue, there is Okhtinskaya Hotel (house 4) and a music library (house 8).
