Borodinskaya Street

BORODINSKAYA STREET between Fontanka River Embankment and Zagorodny Avenue. It was laid through the land owned by St. Petersburg Bourgeois Society. Development of the area started in the early 20th century. Among the first buildings were apartment houses 12 and 15 built at the corner of the street in 1909-10 and houses 1 and 2 built in 1911-12. All the four houses were built by architect N. K. Pryanishnikov. The House of Railway Engineers was erected by engineer A. A. Baryshnikov at 6 Borodinskaya Street in 1912-13. It now accommodates the Technical School of Railway Transport. House 10/8 was built by architect A. P. Vaitens in 1936 to accommodate Pavlov School No. 308. House 13 was built by architect A. A. Ol as the House of Theatre Workers in 1934-36. Among residents of the house were K. V. Skorobogatov, V. Y. Safronov, A. I. Larikov, V. P. Politseymako, and P. A. Serebryakov (memorial plaque). Composer I. O. Dunaevsky lived in house 9 in 1929-36.
