VOYACHEK Vladimir Ignatievich (1876, St. Petersburg - 1971, Leningrad), otolaryngologist, member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR from 1944, Lieutenant General of the Medical Corps in 1943, Hero of Socialist Labour in 1961, and honoured worker of Science in 1933. He graduated from the Army Medical Academy in 1899 and worked there from 1917 as the head of the chair of otolaryngology, which was named after him in 1935, the vice-president from 1919, and the chief in 1925-30. Voyachek contributed to the establishment of the Research Institute of Ear, Throat, Nose, and Speech in 1930 to work as the scientific director till his dying day. He was buried at Bogoslovskoe Cemetery.
