SHCHERBIN Vladimir Nikolaevich (1930 - 1996, St. Petersburg), architect, painter, graphic artist. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (1954). The author of the residential projects in Nevsky district, Kupchino, in the surroundings of the Dolgoe Lake, the Komendantsky Aerodrome, in collaboration - of the Moscow Hotel (1977) and the Central Automatic Telephone Station at Sinopskaya Embankment, Chernaya Rechka, Pionerskaya and other metro stations, and the Druzhba Hotel in Vyborg. Shcherbin's last major work is the Russian National Library complex on Moskovsky Avenue (1974-98). Buried at Smolenskoe Cemetery.
