TVERSKOY Lev Mikhailovich (1889-1972, Leningrad), architect, architecture theorist. Graduated from the Institute of Civil Engineering (1914) and the Academy of Arts (1923). Since 1919, worked in the city of Petrograd adjustment plan workshop of I.A. Fomin. Tverskoy's major works (in a joint authorship) include: the residential area on Tkachey Street (1926-27) and Kondratyevsky residential area (1928-31), the palace of Soviets building on Moskovsky Avenue (the eastern wing). Tverskoy developed the district planning of Leningrad as part of the general urban plan of 1938-39. Tverskoy is the author of the integrated analyses of Pavlovsk park landscape planning (1939-40), providing a basis for the following restoration of the ensemble in the post-war years.
