LAKHTINSKY RAZLIV (Lakhta High Water) is a lagoon-estuary type lake located on the northern bank of Neva Bay and separated from it with a sand bay-bar which has reinforcing that supports a railway line and a highway. It received its name from the Finnish word "lahti" - gulf. The lake is 6 km long, about 4 km wide and up to 3 meters deep. It has low and marshy banks. Onsets from Neva Bay raise the lake's waters up to 3 meters. Its western bank houses Lahta village, the northwestern bank - treatment facilities, the northern bank – the Yuntolovskaya summer house, and the eastern bank - Komendantsky Aerodrome quarters. Soil flushes have significantly reduced the lake's area. Rivers flooding into the lake include the Yuntolovka, Kamenka and Glukharka rivers.
